Thermotherapy, also called heat therapy, is the therapeutic use of heat, applied through hot cloths, hot water bottles, heating pads, hydrocollator packs, whirlpool baths, and infrared heat wraps, for pain relief and general health support. It is used for conditions such as arthritis, stiff muscles, and deep tissue injuries, working by increasing collagen tissue extensibility, decreasing joint stiffness, reducing pain and muscle spasm, and increasing blood flow to the treated area to support healing.
