Abderrahim Harouchi (1944 to 2011) was a Moroccan pediatric surgeon and politician. He combined clinical work in children surgery with public service, serving as the minister of public health of Morocco from 1992 to 1995 and later as Minister of Social Development, Family and Solidarity from 2004 to 2006. His career therefore ran across the operating theatre and the machinery of national health and social policy, which is the reason he belongs among healers who shaped the organization of care as well as its practice. The English Wikipedia lead is short, so this entry records his specialty, his two ministerial posts and his dates, and leaves the details of his training and surgical work to later research.
