Treatment of Human Lice

The treatment of human lice is the removal of head lice parasites from human hair, a problem studied and debated for centuries and whose worldwide case count has grown since the mid-1960s to hundreds of millions annually. No single product or method guarantees complete destruction of both eggs and hatched lice in one treatment, but methods used with varying success include chemical treatments, natural products, combs, shaving, hot air and silicone-based lotions.
