Nasal Administration

Nasal administration, popularly known as snorting, is a route of drug administration in which drugs are insufflated through the nose, delivering either topical or systemic effects. Nasal sprays used for local action include decongestants for colds and allergies, whose systemic effects are usually minimal, while systemically active drugs available as nasal sprays include migraine treatments, rescue medications for overdose and seizure emergencies, hormone treatments, nicotine, and nasal vaccines such as live attenuated influenza vaccine.
