Korhan Taviloğlu

Korhan Taviloğlu (born 1962 in Istanbul) is a Turkish professor of general surgery. He graduated from Robert College in 1980 and from Istanbul University's Istanbul School of Medicine in 1986, and completed his general surgery residency there in 1991. He worked at Baylor College of Medicine between 1992 and 1993, became associate professor of surgery at Istanbul in 1996 and professor in 2002, then worked with the Acibadem Healthcare Group from 2003 to 2008 and the Florence Nightingale Health Group from 2008 to 2012 before moving to his own private clinic in 2012. He was General Secretary of the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery from 2002 to 2011 and its president for the 2012 to 2013 term, the first surgeon from Turkey to hold that position in Europe. His main fields are general surgery, colorectal surgery, proctology and cancer surgery, and he has trained in advanced laparoscopic, robotic and laser surgery.
