Colporrhaphy, also called vaginal wall repair or anterior and posterior vaginal wall repair, is a surgical procedure in women that repairs a defect in the wall of the vagina, and is the surgical intervention for both cystocele, the protrusion of the urinary bladder into the vagina, and rectocele, the protrusion of the rectum into the vagina. The repair may be made to either or both the anterior, or front, and posterior, or rear, vaginal walls.
