Phototherapeutic keratectomy, abbreviated PTK, is a type of eye surgery that uses a laser to treat various disorders of the eye by removing tissue from the cornea, allowing removal of superficial corneal opacities and surface irregularities. It is similar to photorefractive keratectomy, which instead treats refractive conditions, and its common indications include corneal dystrophies, scars, opacities, and bullous keratopathy.
