Proactiv is an American acne treatment brand developed by dermatologists Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields, who met while at Stanford University School of Medicine, and launched in 1995 by the direct marketing company Guthy-Renker. The product is built around a three-step Solutions routine consisting of a benzoyl peroxide cleanser, a glycolic acid toner and a treatment lotion. The brand became one of the best known acne treatment products on the market through celebrity endorsements and infomercials.
