PUVA Therapy

Pharmacological Therapy

PUVA therapy is an ultraviolet light treatment for skin diseases including vitiligo, eczema, psoriasis, graft-versus-host disease, mycosis fungoides, large plaque parapsoriasis and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. The person is first given the drug psoralen, applied to the skin or taken orally, which sensitizes the skin to light, and the skin is then exposed to UVA radiation.
