All Integrative, Narrative and Postmodern Therapies

Psychotherapies organized around meaning, story, social context or a specialized life issue, drawing on more than one school rather than belonging cleanly to a single classical tradition. This includes narrative and postmodern approaches (narrative therapy, collaborative therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, future-oriented therapy, coherence therapy), identity, culture and social-context focused therapies (feminist therapy, intercultural therapy, sexual identity therapy, sex therapy), life-stage and palliative approaches (grief counseling, reminiscence therapy, dignity therapy, validation therapy), and psychoeducational and specialized-protocol approaches (psychoeducation, developmental needs meeting strategy, heimler method of human social functioning, TAMAR education project, human modelling, other-centred therapy, response-based therapy, psychosensory therapy, metapsychiatry, epsychology, nidotherapy, nude psychotherapy). A therapy that fits one of the other named schools more specifically, such as a cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic or family-systems approach, is grouped under that school instead even when it also carries an integrative label in its own name.
