Endocrine and Hormone Therapy

Drug therapies that replace, block or otherwise act on the body's hormones and hormone-controlled processes. This includes sex hormone therapies such as androgen replacement therapy, estrogen therapy, hormone replacement therapy and gender affirming hormone therapy, diabetes and insulin therapies, bone and mineral metabolism drugs such as bisphosphonate therapy, corticosteroid hormones used for their endocrine replacement role, and other hormone or metabolic drug protocols. Devices that deliver a hormone, such as an insulin pump, are grouped instead under drug delivery routes and methods, since the defining fact there is the delivery mechanism rather than the hormone itself.
